The United States will be Milei’s fifth stop in 2026

President Javier Milei is set to embark on his fifth visit to the United States this year, with travel to Washington scheduled for Tuesday nite. Milei, 55, has meetings scheduled with business leaders, will deliver a speech at the US Chamber of Commerce, and will receive two promotional awards during his brief stay in North America. His program encompasses a gala to commemorate Hispanic Heritage Month and an event dedicated to Holocaust remembrance and the ongoing struggle against anti-Semitism. Milei is scheduled to leave Buenos Aires at 11pm on Tuesday, October 13, and is expected to arrive in Washington on Wednesday morning. He is scheduled to return to Argentina at 8:30 AM on Friday, October 16.

The President’s first official activity is scheduled for Wednesday afternoon, during which he will engage with Argentine-born entrepreneur and investor Andy Kleinman, who serves as the president of video game developer Delphi Interactive. Kleinman has previously indicated that he is contemplating the establishment of a new games studio in Argentina, referencing the revitalised interest in the country under Milei’s administration. Subsequent discussions will involve Harold Hamm, the billionaire founder and chairman emeritus of US oil company Continental Resources, which has swiftly increased its footprint in Argentina’s Vaca Muerta shale formation.

Continental acquired the Los Toldos II Oeste block from Pluspetrol in late 2025 and subsequently agreed to acquire a 20-percent stake in four blocks operated by Pan American Energy in Neuquén and Río Negro. In August 2026, an agreement was reached to acquire a 50-percent stake in Phoenix Global Resources, thereby establishing a joint venture with the Swiss energy group Mercuria. Later that evening, Milei will attend the official Hispanic Heritage Month gala, where he is set to receive an award recognising his leadership and global impact in the Hispanic community. He will also deliver a speech. On Thursday, October 15, President Milei will address the US Chamber of Commerce at 11.20am, presenting a speech entitled ‘The Argentine case: the challenge of economic growth after decades of populism.’

He will also receive the ‘Global Champion of Free Enterprise’ award, in recognition of his advocacy of free enterprise and economic freedom. At 5pm, Milei will participate in an event at Argentina’s Embassy in Washington, commemorating the nation’s tenure as pro-tempore president of the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance. The meeting will center on regional discourse regarding Holocaust remembrance and initiatives aimed at combating anti-Semitism. The President is set to depart from Washington at 9 pm on Thursday, with an expected return to Argentina on Friday morning.
