Milei’s Busy US Itinerary with a Chilean Stop

President Javier Milei is poised to embark on a rigorous international tour this week, commencing with a visit to the United States, which has already necessitated several last-minute adjustments to his schedule. The leader of La Libertad Avanza adjusted his agenda following an invitation from US President Donald Trump to participate in the inaugural meeting of the “Board of Peace,” an initiative by the Republican aimed at tackling the conflict in the Middle East.

Milei is anticipated to journey to Washington DC on Wednesday to participate in the multilateral forum scheduled for February 19. The assembly reportedly comprises a curated collection of nations, marked by significant European omissions. In South America, it is reported that only Paraguay and Argentina have committed to participation. In the aftermath of the event, the President of Argentina is expected to make a brief return to Buenos Aires prior to departing once again for the United States, where a summit of Latin American leaders, organized by Trump, is scheduled for March 7. Expected attendees at the Florida summit include Santiago Peña from Paraguay, Nayib Bukele from El Salvador, and Daniel Noboa from Ecuador.

The upcoming meeting will concentrate on the increasing influence of China in the Americas, a matter that has ascended to the forefront of priorities for the US administration. In the coming days, Milei is set to travel to New York for “Argentina Week” in Manhattan, scheduled from March 9 to 11. He is set to address the public on March 10, joined by key figures from his administration, including Cabinet Chief Adorni.

The itinerary will feature a short visit to Chile for the inauguration of president-elect José Antonio Kast at La Moneda Palace on March 11. Milei intends to continue his domestic “Tour de la Gratitud” aimed at voters who supported him in the previous year’s midterms, with a visit to Tucumán scheduled for March 19.
